Postkarten

Here are some of the Postkarten that have been sent to us by the students at Munkbrarup Grundschule near Flensburg in Germany.

Look at the following Postkarten and see if you can answer the questions about each one.

If you are in 3/4 Staley, your task is to finish writing your Bendigo Postcard.

Postkarte 1: Map. This postcard shows a map of the area of the very north of Germany called the 'Die Flensburger Főrde. The area above the water is in the country of Denmark.

Q.1 Can you spot the following things on the map?

- The towns of Flensburg and Munkbrarup

- three boats

- a windmill

- three seagulls with the word 'DȀNEMARK' ( Denmark) next to them.

- the word 'OSTSEE' which means 'East Sea'.

Postkarte 2: Moin,  Moin ( This is a greeting meaning 'Hello')

Q2. Can you spot the following things on the postcard?

- 3 types of animals

- 2 boats with flags

- one stripey lighthouse

Q3. What is that thing on the beach with the numbers 1159?

Postkarte 3 : Schleswig- Holstein. Land zwischen den Meeren ( Land between the seas)

Schleswig- Holstein is the name of the state ( like Victoria).

Q4. Here are those strange things with numbers on the beach again. What could they be?

Q5. What are those things standing in the yellow field? Another picture holds the clue.

Q6. Find 3 types of animals

Postkarte 4 : OSTSEE

Q7. Aha! There is one of those strange things on the beach again ( top right). Can you see someone's legs sticking out? All will be revealed next week but here is a clue. It is called a 'Strandkorb' which translates to 'beach basket'. As you can see, Munkbrarup, is quite close to the beach. Go back to the first postcard and see if you can see some people playing in the water and also a Strandkorb.
